This sure makes me appreciate the earlier singers.

I think this genre showcased the very best of Cher's talents. Her delivery and style was stunning. Cher sang these songs with such emotion too. I could listen to her sing these tunes all day long. And did I mention... what a beauty! Come on Cher, make a new album and put a new twist on these awesome songs.

I love this version...it's a pitty that Cher is not doing this kind of repertoir anymore!

user
I love Cher, but she sort of looked like Eva Longeria there!

This song was actually a single that was released off her album called "Bittersweet White Light" from the early part of 1973. It made it as high as #111 on the charts though, I don't recall ever hearing it on the radio where I lived.

This sounds great! I love this song. Bette Midler's version (on her debut album, "The Divine Miss M") is also great...

Lyrics:
Am I blue, oh am I blue?
Ain't these tears in these eyes telling you
Am I blue? Ah you would be too
I said if this plans with your man
Ah that done fell through

Oh there was a time
When I was, when I was he's only one
But look at me and see now
I'm, oh I'm, I'm the sad
I'm the sad and lonely one
I'm a fool and I'm the only one

Was I gay, oh was I gay until today?
Oh God that he's gone
He's gone and we're through
Am I blue?

There was a time there was a time
I said there was a time that I was he's only one
But right now, right now
I'm, oh I'm the sad of the sad and lonely one
I'm the left behind only one

Am I blue, oh am I blue
Oh now he's gone and we're through
Oh am I, am I blue, am I blue?
