I got a migraine headache the first time i saw eric clapton live. I cried so hard it crushed my head with saddness how he brought me to my knees. I'm a rock and roller and I've been there done that in my short time. Nothing shocks me. Eric Clapton shocks me.

Now thats music you can feel!!

user
What tone!! he just knocks me out with his playin.. I wish he'd use the 335 more.. and what a great voice too.. gets better with age.

user
Let's not forget about Clapton's stint with John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, where it was first proclaimed "Clapton is God." Clapton has dedicated his whole life to the blues. Whether he plays a strat or Gibson better is a matter os preference, as each guitar has its own capabilities. He did play a Gibson back with Mayall. This is a man who has effectively synthesized the works of Johnson, Waters, and numerous others. What we are left with is this great hybrid.

user
This is great. Strats are great, I love them, but Clapton's style suits a fat, sustaining Gibson sound so much better.

user
i agree completely, i accidentally gave you a thumbs down, intentionally thumbs up.

Eric was at his absolute prime here. He was so hot on playing and singing the blues songs on 'from the cradle' in '94 and on this tour with this band and he had come from doing the fantastic acoustic 'unlpugged' album in '92 so I can imagine. I would be ready to tear it up on Electric!

user
I have to respectfully disagree. This was not his prime. HIS WHOLE CAREER IS HIS PRIME. He is an amazing guitarist and songwriter. He will go down as one of the all-time greatest guitarists.

user
Surely if his whole career was his prime, then he was at his prime at this gig.

this song is drenched with feeling. i love it!

Lyrics:
I've got to ride that lonesome train.
My heart is heavy with aches and pain.
I said but someday, someday baby,
After a while, you will be sorry.
Every day my clouds are grey;
It takes you to roll all those clouds away.
I said but someday, someday baby,
After a while, you will be sorry.
Trouble, trouble, trouble on my mind.
Trouble, trouble, way down the line.
I don't need, I don't need no sympathy,
So babe, babe, don't you, don't you pity me.
I may be blue, but I don't mind,
Because I know way down the line,
I said someday, someday baby,
After a while, you will be sorry.
