Led Zeppelin tend to be valued for the wrong reason. I just like them for the music, and could care less about who they influenced. Maybe you like the sound of Soundgarden more, in which case you would probably prefer Black Sabbath over Led Zeppelin, or maybe you haven't explored Led Zeppelin enough.

Led Zeppelin happens to be my fav band, and they are better than SG by far...however SG is my second fav band and they are hardcore. Depends on what you like more, but Led Zeppelin was much better talent wise. Robert Plant is the only person who has better vocals than Chris...

I suppose thats all abaout taste. Led were the pioneers and you can thank them for a lot. But Soundgarden took the sound further and got inspiration from several other rockgenres. I personally like Chris better because of that "rawness". But you can only love both of them :)

Thrash was never "killed off" by grunge, you're insane. It was shitty spandex-clad sunset strip hair metal that was rightfully killed off. Thrash went a little more underground in the 90's but stayed strong.
