Yeah, as a bass player I'll give you the pop/slap thing. I still think it's a really simple song BUT it does take a good amount of skill to be able to pop and slap smoothly and evenly, without making some notes come out distorted

It's not too complicated.. mostly an E and an E octave with a B and a D thrown in now and again.. but don't get me wrong. Simple does NOT equal bad.. it's catchy as hell

very true, the notes are simple. however, the real skill here is in the pop/slap method displayed in the first thirty seconds. i play guitar, so i can rock the hell out of pure notes on the bass. however, it takes a much better player than me to pop and slap without breaking something (ex. flea @ lollapalooza breaking his thumb)
