is this the star bellied sneeches?

user
I know they were big, a commercial sucess but now that he's dead, he's been given god status when alot of other people don't get the recognition they deserve such as Mike Campbell of The Heartbreakers as guitarist go

user
i agree with almost everything you are sayin but cobain and nirvana were huge before he died, although like alot of other dead rockers before him, death seemed to make him above criticism and spawn infinite myths, he was a very ordinary guy with a great talent, but at the end of the day, wasn't around long enough to be recognised as one of the true greats, eg. townshend, slash, hendrix, blackmore, page, lomi, brian may, the edge etc etc

user
he isnt considered as one of the greats because he was not around long enough

user
Its true that him dying has suddenly made everyone think of him as a god, but he definitely wasnt an ordinary guy. If you read his biography he was a bloody weird guy when it comes down to it. And he was around as long, if not longer than hendrix was.

user
who?

user
Kurt Cobain, and I didnt actually address the comment to you :)

Lyrics:
"What's the frequency, Kenneth?" is your Benzedrine, uh-huh
I was brain-dead, locked out, numb, not up to speed
I thought I'd pegged you an idiot's dream
Tunnel vision from the outsider's screen
I never understood the frequency, uh-huh
You wore our expectations like an armored suit, uh-huh

I'd studied your cartoons, radio, music, TV, movies, magazines
Richard said, "Withdrawal in disgust is not the same as apathy"
A smile like the cartoon, tooth for a tooth
You said that irony was the shackles of youth
You wore a shirt of violent green, uh-huh
I never understood the frequency, uh-huh

"What's the frequency, Kenneth?" is your Benzedrine, uh-huh
Butterfly decal, rear-view mirror, dogging the scene
You smile like the cartoon, tooth for a tooth
You said that irony was the shackles of youth
You wore a shirt of violent green, uh-huh
I never understood the frequency, uh-huh
You wore our expectations like an armored suit, uh-huh
I couldn't understand
You said that irony was the shackles of youth, uh-huh
I couldn't understand
You wore a shirt of violent green, uh-huh
I couldn't understand
I never understood, don't fuck with me, uh-huh
