I guess style wise it would be but it's a Crestline, I don't know if you can still call a non Fender a telecaster.

Heh heh, I agree. I got this equipment hoping my kids will pick it up. But so far it's been me trying to play a few Sabbath riffs. Your videos have helped, I think Tormentor will be the first song I will sorta be able to play all the way through...slowly, lol. I gotta say that YouTube is a great tool for learning music!

you fear they are going to give it up- you can always sell it or keep it until they're older and rekindle an interest in playing again. One of the reasons I hardly ever played before I was 16 was because I got a shitty 1st time electric guitar from Billy Morris and my mom got some shit 15 watt at a garage sale that sounded like it farted everytime I played. I could only bare to play it a few minutes a week or 2 weeks. SPEND THE MONEY.
