IMO this album is one of the first groove metal albums. Not all of it is, but this and a few others are. Even a critic on "Classic Albums" documentary said Metallica introduced a "groovy" side on this CD.

Newsted's bass sounds kinda like Dave Ellefson's bass sound on the Megadeth album Rust in Peace (my favourite album ever). I love that sound.

The Black Album is so fucking good. I hate when people think Enter Sandman represents the whole album. No song does, it's so diverse, that's what makes the album sooo good.

i sorta thought that too but it was more of load and reload where they kinda hit a mainsteam sound and lars cut back to very back rhythms with little fills or solo's
