"terrible mistakes of the past" is really going "over the top" (we're talking about music here, not "world politics"!), and is merely your opinion - Dude, "lighten up" a bit - it's pretty obvious that you probably weren't around in the 80's! There's no need for "negativity" - look, it's just a cheesy song, and a horribly camp, cheap video (even by 80's standards) - it's great for "nostalgia", that's all.
