This debate is comical - of course it's Steve Walsh. Steve Walsh with a mullet, dyed hair, stonewashed clothes. Look on youtube at the video for "Stand Beside Me" (from their next album - "In the Spirit of Things") and you'll see that this is obviously the same guy. "Can't Cry anymore" is a great ballad, from their comercial phase. Earlier stuff was better, but this was good in a different way.

I think Walsh did a lot of drugs in the 70s and in this era, but it just peaked in the Live At the Whiskey era.

Did they ever make a video or push for a hit with "Bells of Saint James." That was, by far the best song from the Morse era and could have been their next "Carry On."

mtv was good when it first came on in 1980, but it was all downhill from that point. and right, they pushed the rap shit in the early 90's remember martha quinn and jj jackson? good stuff

I agree with this guy - the Producers version is AWESOME (and I am a huge Kansas fan) and Van Temple sings the crap out of it. I wish to this day I could get Run for Your Life on cd - I wore out my cassette tape copy!

lol is that the guy from law and order?

I hadn't seen this video before. One poster commented that it was such a somber song. I think it's great adding the humor of all the added members. It is "G"reat.

The Dregs formed in 1971. The first Kansas album was 1974...(Hmmm?) I wasn't making a derogatory statement about Walsh. He's fantastic. But Morse is in a league of his own.

What really disappoints me is that, though this era had some good stuff, they didn't do what they could have with Morse, because they were searching for that next big hit which never happened. Morse Kansas could have been (and Steve M. wanted it to be) Dixie Dregs meets Kerry Livgren. But instead we got failed attempts for hits like this one.

Lyrics:
1.000 years could come and go but we would never change
It doesn't matter how we try our hearts remain the same
You see how quickly distance grows close your eyes and it appears
And we've pretended long enough no more time no more tears
I just can't cry I can't cry anymore
While you throw our lives away
I just can't cry I can't cry anymore
While you throw our lives away Throw them away
Something happened long ago and we grew apart
We turned our heads the other way and so we turned our hearts
But girl I'm not blaming you and I'm not blaming me
It's just the way the story goes we grew up but separately
I just can't cry I can't cry anymore
While you throw our lives away
I just can't cry I can't cry anymore
While you throw our lives away Throw them away
