I can stand Coldplay well enough, but when I first heard this one (which was 2005) I was intoxicated with the beauty of it and in shock wondering where this stunning band had disappeared- it easily killed all their singles from X&Y, not just in passion but in POP melody, and I thought if Coldplay songs were all like this, they'd deserve as many #1s as they could get. For me, Viva... has been another good shock- it's not anything intimate, but that song is nearly as perfect, and Lost too.

love the intro to this very atmospheric reminds me of the ambience of early verve b4 urban hymns.this is when coldplay made music i could relate to,now there a u2 tribute act and b4 anyone says i like some of viva la vida but the title track is one of coldplays worst songs and the video makes me cringe,what happened to the lost soul walking along the beach in the yellow video?

They should bring out a new album with the same vibe like this song. Also, they have to put the song ''Ladder to the sun'' on the album, it was never released, dont ask me why. Look it up on youtube: Coldplay, Ladder to the sun!

To me, this song is about how we as a society live in a party state, brothers and sisters having the time of our lives, not noticing that some of us are dropping out...dying...suffering..that some of us will never survive. Are in trouble. But we're too busy having the time of our lives...
