All he is saying is we shouldn't have to come to blows over such a thing as belief. He is not taking sides saying who is right or who is wrong, rather objectively stating there are other ways to display our conviction to our beliefs through violence and ignorance.

no, he is saying that although we all have our own beliefs, sometimes it is best to lay those beliefs aside if someone else has a better idea. if you let your foolish beliefs get in the way of what is really true and right, then you allow your beliefs to cloud what should be done to make society and this world a better place... =]
