U must be new school. This might not be his best lyrical performance. But L was always at the top of his class. Go back and listen to all of his lyrics on all of his songs, and check the battles!! what not the best rapper. Than how come the last newschooler to try him CANIUBS is no longer in the game, and just why would'nt the supposedly best battle this man?? GOAT!!

I been a Hip-Hop head for 25 yrs. and I don't put L as the greatest either. L spits flames, fo sho, but I don't even have him in my top 10. My all-time list is made up of brothas with conscious lyrics and content. L is bangin, fo sho, but there's no way I could put him above Rakim, KRS-One, Nas, Big Daddy Kane, or Kool Moe Dee. I probably wouldn't even put him ahead of Kool G Rap or Ice Cube. I know some of those cats fell off, but their legacy stands (eg: Rakim). Anyway, 'sol about Hip-Hop.

I'm with you. I Need Love was a jam no doubt, but I cant call LL one of the greatest. I love him for making possible for others, but lets be clear, he isnt on the level of Rakim, KRS and others.
