"So You Want to Be a Rock and Roll Star" does not have a mariachi trumpet. There is a flugelhorn on the record, but nothing even remotely resembling a mariachi trumpet. The Byrds couldn't figure out what to put in the instrumental break, and their producer recommended Hugh Masekela.

This is audio from a mono version. The horns do not sound like an akward edit on the stereo version.

They were fighting so much and John was being such a dick to Cass that it's a wonder they even got this album released. This is definitely one of the weakest tracks on Deliver and they even had to pad this lp with 2 instrumentals. I do love this lp though.

Gee man, thanks a lot!! Keep on the good work. I love the Spanish air this song has. The pictures were excellent also! Don't leave out Spanish Harlem, You Baby, Somebody Groovy, and My Girl, if you got them. Thanks, again, in anticipation.
