I think it's his new voice...just like they did with Wave of Sorrow. WoS was an incomplete song from the JT era, for the remaster, Bono sang it again, as they didn't have the complete song in his old voice. I think it's the same for this one...

bono sings a lot better in the war era i love that angry and powerfull voice... now you can feel the years on his voice

that's true. War is one of my favourite U2 records, maybe because I'm almost the same age as they were then. and his voice was many many times better.

it's an old song, from the war era but the vocals were recorded this may in dublin ... the booklet says so I reckon
