user i swear to god all the fucking ratm songs rule!!!
user "hey you! it's just another bomb track. di di di di .... "
user That's their style - Unique. Uncommon. Rage Against the Machine.
user In response to angrydwarf, I'm sure they do live a fairly comfortable life compared to the average joe in America. However, the very America they are living comfortably in is the one they are despising, and I don't believe hypocritically so.
user It's out of necessity, considering the country (most of the world, actually) is run by the capitalist/fake democracy that controls it, which means for RATM to disseminate their ideas to a broad mass they have to "usurp" (take back) powers, and what the system allows. Of course, we have to go past this for any real political change to happen, but I believe this is exactly what the band is proposing.
user I hear what you are saying. I find their approach to be highly incorrect. You see, I used to live in Communist China...and I can tell you many stories about the hell that is revolution. I think that they pine for a type of change that they would be against if they knew what it truly was. And by the way, if you meet refugees from Cuba, Russia, the Ukraine, etc, they'll often agree. I don't know how you battle the evils in capitalism, but revolution just brings a new Mao.
user not all revolutions bring communism i live in Romania i preety much fought in the romanian revolution against our communist regime and my country was the single country from eastern europe that used force and violence to overthrow the communist regime so revolution is change revolution can be of all types u cant generalize it on one political and economical idea RATM are Libertarians whit Anarchist tendencies so they dont support communism and we dont support communism too
user and if u see and study at least one libertarian a example Noam Chomsky u will see capitalist democracy is doomed too if u afraid of the communism u must be afraid of capitalism too if we think that a capitalist democracy cant be transformed in a totalitarian regime then we livin in a dream now our system is a oligarchy and we are goin straight into totalitarianism cause capitalism and democracy will never coexists cause democracy becomes a tool and a commodity for capitalism
